Terry Ruhs' NearlyFineArt.com - Impressionist Art

Every painting I do is better than the next one.

An artist decided to buy a new easel. He wasn't too sure what type to get. At the art shop they offered him two, a big one and a small one. He pondered for a while and finally decided on the lesser of two easels.

But seriously, folks

Terry Ruhs is retired and lives in Waxhaw, North Carolina.  He's painted for years, but only seriously for the last three years.  His paintings hang in homes in different states, but primarily he has sold in the Charlotte area.  His mentor is the noted Charlotte painter and teacher Cynthia Howard. Terry is a member of the Charlotte Artists Society,  Guild of Charlotte Artists, the Mint Hill Arts, and he is vice president of the Matthews Artist Guild.  He likes to paint in an impressionistic manner and loves plays of light and shadow or anything that will make his paintings dramatic. Sometimes he just scratches away at the canvas and just hopes for the best.   For more photos or information, please email to terry@nearlyfineart.com

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying.

Someone told me that my paintings are the artistic equivalent of a Big Mac and fries.   And that's good, because I like a Big Mac and fries.

Probably these photos are best view by a hand-held device so that the image can be expanded in order to see the astonishing brush strokes.

If I paint a picture of a cow, will it ever be hung in a moozeum?
